BIOGRAPHY OF YVONNE NELSON
she's from Cape Coast but was born in Accra. She had her basic and junior high education at St. Martin De Porres School in Accra and later went to Aggrey Memorial Senior High School. She had her tertiary education at Central University College, where she did a degree course in Human Resource Management.[citation needed]
In Miss Ghana 2005 Beauty Pageant, she won the Best Talent award by performing an original rap song and Miss Photogenic along with two other awards. With the exposure accrued from the beauty pageant, she won a two-year contract as face of Maxim Cosmetics after and landed a role in the TV series, Fortune Island, where her acting career began. Her first lead was princess tyra, she shot about five more movies and then went to Nigeria to shoot her first collaboration with Genevieve Nnaji in 2007 that launched her career in Nollywood. Since then, she has shot close to a hundred movies in Nigeria, Ghana,Ivory Coast etc.

She founded the Yvonne Nelson Glaucoma Foundation in 2010 to help create awareness about the disease. With support from other Ghanaian celebrities, she recorded an all-star charity single, and shot a video to help educate people.
Nelson produced her first movie, The Price, in 2011, followed by Single And Married the next year. The latter won Best Picture at the Ghana Movie Awards and Best Ghanaian Movie in Nigeria at the 2013 City People Awards.
She followed these up with House of Gold in 2013.

Yvonne Nwosu declared yesterday on her Twitter account that she was single again. A source revealed that it has something to do with Ice Prince’s rekindled love affair with Yvonne Nelson after starring in one of her movies recently.
Yvonne Nelson and Ice Prince were spotted together at celebrity stylist Nancy’s birthday party at her home in Lekki, Lagos-Nigeria on Saturday February 16th. Tonto Dikeh was also at the private bash. 'It [the relationship] just did not work. She is a very very busy person. She was way busier than I was at the time. Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has, for the first time, made a full disclosure on her relationship with Nigerian musician Iyanya, stating the Kukere singer only wanted to use her.
Last year, news went viral that the two celebrities were in a serious relationship, something Yvonne denied vehemently but she took to Twitter after a painful breakup accusing the singer of cheating on her and leaving her for Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh.
Iyanya commenting about the relationship on the Tim Westwood show in the UK disclosed that he only wanted the actress for pleasure and not for true love as she would haveShe said she initially thought their relationship ended because of Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh but “there were so many other things going on.”
“I was in town for his birthday and guess what, there were other girls there as well, some from South Africa and some from wherever,” the actress and producer revealed.
Yvonne Nelson noted that due to the nature of the entertainment industry, male celebrities have difficulties disclosing their relationships to the general public because “they have other agendas…because they have other girls.”
She therefore urged celebrities to be bold and make their relationships known “if only you love whoever you are dating and you are proud of them.”
Yvonne Nelson, who said she has not heard from Iyanya in a while, disclosed that, “I am not even going to date anyone now after all that I have been through.”
“It’s been seven months [and] I’m like a secondary virgin right now. I haven’t seen anyone, done anything,” she said and added that apart from kissing John Dumelo in a movie.
Touching on her relationship with rapper Ice Prince, she said, “Ice is a very lovely person…he calls me his homie and he is my homie…I love Ice Prince…he is very dear to me.”thought.
He is quoted to have said, “Yvonne Nelson, I lost your medicine. She called that she’s coming over and I ride her like a ‘jangolova’. All I want is your waist, no emotions, no tears, no letters, no love, no nothing. All I want is your waist, she ain’t even know it. She brought emotions.”
Yvonne Nelson speaking in an interview with Toolz on The Juice on Ndani TV said, “Iyanya was very special and we had a thing but I guessed it was all a joke he had it all planned out. He knew what he was looking for and I guess he got it.”
According to the bubbly actress, the Ur Waist hit singer “had a lot of girls on his table it just didn’t work. I just heard a lot of things, he did a lot things. I feel it’s very disrespectful talking about him like that but it happened to me he can choose not to talk about it.”
Putting things blunt, Yvonne disclosed that “We were in something [a relationship]…the lies were just too much,” the relationship ended on her birthday last year – November 12.
She said she initially thought their relationship ended because of Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh but “there were so many other things going on.”
