Born on the 28th of August, 1984 in Lagos, Mercy Johnson Okojie is a Nigerian Actress. Commonly known as Mercy Johnson, She first came to limelight when she featured in the movie, The Maid, where she played a possessed Nanny Alot of people see her as one the most , if not the most  controversial actresses in Nigeria. Both in her movies and real life, she is ever surrounded by all types of critics.  Ever since, she has attracted multiple movie producers and evidently, she has appeared in many movies. She was born of a military father, Daniel Johnson, and has spent most of her lifetime with him, leaving her mother, Elizabeth Johnson, at the age of 2 to live with his father who was constantly being transferred due to work reasons.She was a tomboy in her childhood, having 3 male siblings that he associated most with. She has 3 sisters who are her elders, making a family of 7 children, she is the fourth. She had a tough upbringing that forced her to stop school in some occasions and hawk drinking water and other stuffs. She has also worked as a housemaid to help her make ends meet.  She got married in 2011 to Prince Odianosen Okojie, Popularly known as Odi. Odi is the former, ‘traditionally-married’ (Okojie claims that, but the former ‘wife’ claims that they were legally married) husband of Lovely Okojie who has 2 kids with him. Currently, Mercy Johnson also has two kids for him too, Baby Purity Ozioma Okojie who was born on December, 2012 and Baby Henry who was born on October 15, 2014.

With her hard work in acting, she has earned a number of awards. She won the best actress for movie ‘Dumebi, The Dirty Girl’ at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards of 2013 held on Saturday, 9th of March in 2013. The event was hosted at the Eko Hotel and suites.

She was once banned from acting for being too expensive. On the 3rd of November, 2013, the movie marketers of Nollywood threatened to prohibit her from the industry due to her high demands. She reportedly demanded a pay raise for featuring in a movie. However, the ban was lifted by marketers/producers on the 9th of March, 2014, following an apology by the actress.
